Canada to US - Don't want our steel? Then Stop Pushing Your Copyright Agenda!

Our Masters (government)

You've likely read some of my articles on copyright and the fact that Canada has been pressured to adopt US-style DMCA-like law despite the fact that we don't have the constituional checks and balances that the US has.

I've also decried some of the sellout of Canadian politicians on Digital Rights Management (DRM) and the technological damage it does.

Now, we have the US telling us that, despite our bent-over-backwards stance on kowtowing to their big-business-lead legal hoopla, Canadian products won't be allowed to be included in anything that gets US government stimulus dollars!

Mr. Obama - either recognize that Canada is a kissing cousin to the US or keep your mucky hands off our law and away from our politicians. You can't have it both ways.

Hey Richard —
I wouldn't be so quick to snarl at Obama. I checked the link you provided, and I should imagine this issue is pretty low on his priority list and, anyway, it's just one more mess he inherited from the Bushies.
Of course you're upset about it, because of your involvement in the internet industry, but I think getting Canadians upset about a Democratic president is counter-productive. We will be much worse off if the Republicans get back in with Stephen Harper in their pockets (their hind pockets, too, where they can squish Canada whenever they want to sit on us).
Just thinking.
Luv, K

While classic sensory-imitating virtual reality relies on tricking the perceptual system into experiencing an immersive environment, virtual worlds typically rely on mentally and emotionally engaging content which gives rise to an immersive experience. Thanks. Regards, geophysical data processing
